The management at DEEPSIX have combined decades of experience in the international offshore commercial diving (saturation & air), remotely operated vehicle, and project management sectors.
DEEPSIX Subsea has a proven track record in the field and is the best choice for inshore inspection, repair/maintenance (IRM) and construction in Western Canada.
In addition to commercial diving operations and project management, we supply remotely operated vehicle services via an observation class Seamor Chinook ROV.

Our executive team
Fraser Keil
Fraser, a seasoned project manager and Technical Director at DSI, has over 12 years of experience in the subsea sector, encompassing all aspects of project engineering and management, from tendering and proposals to execution. Accredited by the Engineering Council in the UK, Fraser has held senior engineering positions with leading offshore subsea construction and diving contractors for more than a decade.
With expertise in project management, marine operations, deep water construction, commercial diving, subsea construction, salvage operations, and decommissioning, Fraser combines a strong technical background in mechanical and project engineering with robust project management skills. He holds an MBA in Project Management and is a certified Project Management Professional.
Fraser has a global project delivery track record, having worked across various energy sectors and lived in Singapore, Canada, and the United States. At DSI, he is responsible for expanding the company’s offerings across multiple regions and sectors.
Shane Lockhart
Shane has almost 30 years of experience in the offshore oil and gas sector, working globally in roles such as Air Diver, Saturation Diver, Air & Bell Diving Supervisor, Nightshift Diving Superintendent, On-Shore Dive Technical Authority, and currently Offshore Construction Manager.
He has participated in and conducted subsea construction and diving operations from a variety of vessels, including 8-point mooring pipelay barges, large jack-up construction barges, and single and twin bell dynamically positioned dive support vessels (DP DSVs).
Shane also holds an Offshore Diving Safety Specialist accreditation from the Diver Certification Board of Canada, highlighting his dedication to diving safety and industry best practices.
Actively involved in local business development, he focuses on training in diver and dive supervision, ROV supervision, engineering, and project management worldwide. As Executive Director of DEEPSIX, Shane continues to lead and innovate in the field.
Sam Mehos
With a proven track record of success, Sam drives innovation in commercial diving and drilling, pushing boundaries to overcome challenges and achieve breakthroughs in underwater engineering and manufacturing, cementing his position at the forefront of the industry.
Doug TREADGOLD
Jim Bently
Jim Bentley has extensive skills and experience in the field of Commercial Diving and ROV operations. He is a qualified Part 2, Closed Bell Mixed Gas Diver, Closed Bell Shift Supervisor and Client Worksite Representative. He has worked for Subsea7 for 15 years in the North Sea, performing various construction and IRM projects as a diver, supervisor and offshore manager. He is well-versed in IOGP documents, IMCA Guidance and industry best practices. He has also been heavily involved in administrative support writing procedures, HIRA’s and other task specific documentation. In 2019, he joined Brunei Shell Petroleum as Senior Diving Approved Person offshore, leading a team of diving AP’s in managing construction and IRM projects. He returned to Subsea7 in 2020 as an offshore manager working on the Gallaf and MIP 2 projects in Qatar and Saudi Arabia. He is a team player with excellent inter-personal and leadership skills and a strong sense of quality.
We are proud to announce that Jim Bentley will be joining Deepsix Subsea as the Offshore Manager for 2024 on The Ocean Cleanup project. Doug Olson
Doug Olson boasts 28 years of diverse professional experience, spanning logging, log house building, heavy equipment operation, and commercial diving. Over the past 15 years, he has excelled in the marine construction sector, serving as an offshore air diver, saturation diver, and diving supervisor. Renowned for his leadership in high-risk underwater environments, Doug has played a pivotal role in overseeing complex global projects at Deepsix Subsea. His expertise encompasses underwater construction, salvage operations, and environmental conservation, contributing significantly to operational excellence and safety.
Currently, as a Project Supervisor, he spearheads Deepsix Subsea’s involvement in The Ocean Cleanup, leveraging his extensive knowledge in marine operations, diving, and engineering to tackle plastic pollution. Committed to environmental and social causes, Doug remains dedicated to advancing Deepsix Subsea’s objectives through innovative technologies and methodologies, ensuring the company maintains its industry leadership.
Rudy Bravo
We are excited to have Rudy onboard in a Regional Development and Project Support role covering the Caribbean and Central and South Americas regions. Rudy will report directly to the Directors.
Rudy is an experienced international business consultant with a demonstrated record working in the oil & energy industry. Rudy has been active in the offshore oil and gas industry for over two decades and has international operations experience in Trinidad & Tobago, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. Rudy has a background as a commercial diver, drilling HSSE supervisor, marine operations specialist and global technical authority for diving and ROV operations.
Lee Ellert
Lee Ellert started working in the Alberta oil patch in 2012 as a labourer/welder’s helper. In 2015, he became a welding supervisor for pipeline and oilfield plant facilities. He continued to learn different aspects of the pipeline industry, which led him to lead supervisor roles. Lee started commercial diving in 2020 and is now a valued and hardworking member of the team at Deepsix Subsea. He is also skilled as an equipment operator.
Lee is dedicated to his work and strives to maintain a high level of safety and proficiency in his day-to-day responsibilities. Lee is committed to contributing and growing within the company, and is always looking for opportunities to increase his responsibilities and further his knowledge as a Commercial diver.
Paul Vickers
Paul Vickers, a seasoned professional in the subsea industry, has been an air diver since 2007 and an inshore diving supervisor since 2010. He advanced to the role of saturation diver in 2012 and has been a trainee saturation supervisor since 2022.
Paul’s extensive experience spans heavy subsea construction projects across India and Asia, as well as technical construction and decommissioning in the North Sea’s UK and Norway sectors.
Additionally, he has contributed as a project engineer on the Ocean Cleanup Project, demonstrating his versatility and commitment to advancing marine and environmental initiatives.
