Canada's Lost Locomotive

Mission: ROV Search & Locate, Underwater Filming Support
Location: British Columbia, Canada

Deepsix Subsea was an integral partner in the production of The Last Stop, a documentary that explores the history and preservation of submerged maritime sites. Our role included providing commercial diving expertise, underwater logistics, and technical support for key underwater sequences. The project required precision, safety, and a deep understanding of diving in high-risk environments.

One of the significant challenges of this project was conducting safe and effective underwater filming in low-visibility conditions while preserving the integrity of historical sites. Our experienced dive team worked closely with cinematographers to ensure high-quality footage while adhering to strict safety protocols. Specialized underwater communication systems and lighting setups were employed to facilitate efficient filming.

Deepsix Subsea also played a key advisory role, offering technical insights into the history and condition of the submerged structures featured in the documentary. This project not only showcased our expertise beyond industrial applications but also emphasized our ability to support complex underwater operations in the media and historical research sectors. By successfully merging commercial diving with storytelling, The Last Stop highlighted the importance of preserving maritime history and showcased our capabilities in supporting non-traditional subsea projects.

Underwater Welding

Mission: Subsea Construction & Repair
Location: Trinidad, West Indies

DEEPSIX Subsea, a leader in underwater welding, subsea construction, and offshore repair, successfully completed a critical subsea welding project for ALNG in Trinidad. This project showcased our expertise in commercial diving, marine welding, and structural repairs under challenging tidal conditions and strong currents.

Our team of AWS 3.6-certified underwater welders executed precision welding repairs on vital subsea infrastructure, ensuring maximum integrity and durability. Using advanced diving techniques, specialized habitats, and real-time risk assessment, multiple commercial diving teams worked in shifts to optimize welding conditions and minimize downtime.

To guarantee structural reliability, we implemented real-time monitoring, rigorous quality assurance, and non-destructive testing (NDT) to verify weld strength and durability. The successful completion of this project reinforced ALNG’s operational reliability and demonstrated DEEPSIX Subsea’s capability to deliver high-precision underwater welding solutions in complex offshore environments.
